Education is one of the greatest investments you'll ever make. It's an investment that stays with you – and can never be stolen.
So if you're serious about going back to school, then don't let anything prevent you from pursuing your education.
Some students hesitate about going back to college, and it's because they think they can't afford it. They think they're all alone – and will need to pay for it all themselves. And that's simply not the case.
There are a variety of ways to finance your education.
Check out these common ways students use to pay for school:
Scholarships
You may not know this, but there are scholarships available for practically any type of student. That's right, there are scholarships out there for every ethnicity – every age – and can even be based on the career path you're interested in. There are even online databases you can use to help you sort through the various scholarship programs you qualify for.
Grants
Grants are loans given to students that never need to be repaid. You see, this is essentially free money given to students for their education. And these grants are not just for fulltime students – they can also be awarded for part-time students, too.
Volunteers Receive Financial Rewards
If you ever served in the United States Military, Peace Corps, or another volunteer organization you may qualify for monetary awards to be used to further your education. The amount of money varies, but it can often cover a huge percentage of your student loans.
Federal Perkins Loans*
The Perkins loan is a low-interest federal loan made to students with an exceptional financial need. Talk with an Everest Student Finance Planner to find out if you qualify for one of these loans.
Private Loans
You may also pay for your education through a private loan from a bank or other lending institution. These loans often depend on a credit score, or cosigner.
